through; throughout

を通じて means by means of something (a medium, a person) or throughout a span of time/space. Attach it to a noun. With time or place it means "all through"; with a medium it means "via". を通して is a near-synonym.

• 友人ゆうじんを通つうじて、彼かれと知しり合あった。

  Yuujin o tsuujite, kare to shiriatta.

  I got to know him through a friend.

• この地方ちほうは一いち年ねんを通つうじて暖あたたかい。
