What's included

The story

I lived in Japan for six years and still go back for work, and I could never find one place that taught the actual day-to-day Japanese I needed without a paywall or a scattered pile of apps. So I started building my own, and it grew into a full site.

It is built to be fast and to work on any phone, since a lot of people learn on the train. No account is needed to start, and the core learning content is free.

Brand

Name: Japanese Compass (two words, both capitalised). The mark is a compass with a red needle; the palette is deep ink navy (#1a1a2e), a warm paper cream, and a compass red (#b83327).
