to try doing and see

Te-form plus みる means doing something to see what happens or what it is like. Unlike ようとする, the action is actually carried out. It conjugates like 見る: てみたい, てみてください, てみました.

  Kono fuku o kite mite mo ii desu ka.

  May I try this on?

• 新あたらしいレストランに行いってみました。

  Atarashii resutoran ni itte mimashita.

  I tried going to the new restaurant.
