The Umbrella I Forgot

Yesterday it was raining, so I went out carrying a new umbrella on the train. However, when I arrived at the station, I realized I had left the umbrella inside the train. I was so shocked that I couldn't move for a while.

When I consulted a station attendant, it seems lost items are sometimes delivered later. Hearing that, I felt a little relieved. On the way home, just as I was about to buy a cheap umbrella at a convenience store, a woman I didn't know spoke to me.

That person had been on the same train as me, and apparently she had picked up the umbrella I forgot. When I thanked her, she smiled and said, "When you're in trouble, we help each other." After that, I thought I, too, wanted to become able to be kind to others.
