The causative passive combines both forms to say someone was forced to do something they did not want to do. Ru-verbs end in させられる and u-verbs in せられる, often shortened to される (待たされる). The person who forces the action is marked with に.

Examples

  • られまし

    Watashi wa haha ni heya o souji saseraremashita.

    I was made to clean my room by my mother.

  • られまし

    Nomikai de uta o utawaseraremashita.

    I was made to sing a song at the drinking party.
