Dictionary or negative form plus ようにする expresses a conscious, ongoing effort to do or avoid something. The continuous ようにしている describes a habit you maintain. ようにしてください is a softer, more indirect request than てください.

    Mainichi undou suru you ni shite imasu.

    I make it a habit to exercise every day.

  • ない

    Amai mono o tabesuginai you ni shite kudasai.

    Please try not to eat too many sweets.
