this / that / that ... over there (before a noun)

Kono, sono, and ano work like kore, sore, and are but must be followed by a noun: kono hon, ano hito. They cannot stand alone. The question form is dono (which ...).

• この本ほんは面白おもしろいです。

  Kono hon wa omoshiroi desu.

  This book is interesting.

• あの人ひとはだれですか。

  Ano hito wa dare desu ka.

  Who is that person over there?
