at / on (a specific time)

Ni marks a specific point in time such as a clock time, a day of the week, or a date. Relative time words like kyou, ashita, and maiasa do not take ni. Use it to say when an action happens.

Examples

• 七なな時じに起おきます。

  Shichiji ni okimasu.

  I get up at seven.

• 日曜日にちようびに映画えいがを見みます。

  Nichiyoubi ni eiga o mimasu.

  I watch a movie on Sunday.
