still; (with negative) not yet

Mada with an affirmative means still: mada ame ga futte imasu means it is still raining. With te imasen it means not yet done: mada owatte imasen. Answer mou questions in the negative with mada desu.

  Shukudai wa mada owatte imasen.

  My homework is not finished yet.

• まだ雨あめが降ふっています。

  Mada ame ga futte imasu.

  It is still raining.
