sentence endings: agreement (ne) and new information (yo)

Ne at the end of a sentence seeks agreement or confirmation, like English right? or isn't it?. Yo adds emphasis and signals that you are telling the listener something they may not know. Both attach to the end of a complete sentence.

• 今日きょうはいい天気てんきですね。

  Kyou wa ii tenki desu ne.

  Nice weather today, isn't it?

• この店みせは安やすいですよ。

  Kono mise wa yasui desu yo.

  This shop is cheap, you know.
