Soshite begins a new sentence and adds another event or quality: and, and then. It links sentences, while the particle to links only nouns. Overusing it sounds repetitive, so alternate with the te form.

Examples

• 朝あさご飯はんを食たべました。そして、学校がっこうに行いきました。

  Asagohan o tabemashita. Soshite, gakkou ni ikimashita.

  I ate breakfast. And then I went to school.

• この部屋へやは広ひろいです。そして、明あかるいです。

  Kono heya wa hiroi desu. Soshite, akarui desu.

  This room is spacious. And it is bright.
