like / dislike

Suki (like) and kirai (dislike) are na-adjectives, and the liked or disliked thing takes ga, not wo. Daisuki and daikirai strengthen them. The negative of suki desu is suki ja arimasen.

• 私わたしは音楽おんがくが好すきです。

  Watashi wa ongaku ga suki desu.

  I like music.

• 弟おとうとは野菜やさいが嫌きらいです。

  Otouto wa yasai ga kirai desu.

  My younger brother dislikes vegetables.
